Apple is gearing up for its annual September hardware event, and the surrounding rumor mill has reached a fever pitch. While the tech giant hasn’t sent out official invitations just yet, industry watchers expect the presentation to take place within the first couple weeks of September. If the circulating leaks hold true, viewers could be in for one of the most substantial product lineups in years, featuring major redesigns, hardware debuts, and refreshed home devices on Apple’s website.

The most talked-about potential reveal is the long-awaited folding iPhone, which many leakers are calling the “iPhone Ultra.” Rumors suggest the device will feature a 5.5-inch outer cover screen that unfolds into a 7.8-inch inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. A leaked dummy model reveals a shorter and wider frame than older foldables, looking “remarkably similar to the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.” The device is expected to feature a titanium and aluminum body with a liquid-metal hinge, though it will likely carry a steep price tag north of $2,000.

Alongside the foldable, the standard lineup will receive its expected refresh with the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. While the exterior design will remain similar to last year’s generation, significant internal upgrades are anticipated. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo noted that the flagship devices “may get variable-aperture main cameras that can control the amount of light that reaches the sensor on the fly.” The Pro series is also slated to run on a new A20 processor built for improved efficiency, while its display dynamic island may shrink slightly.

Wearables and home hardware are also slated for updates during the stream. Reports indicate that the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 will receive “under-the-hood improvements” to boost overall performance, alongside new band options and health features. Meanwhile, the home segment could see updated versions of the HomePod Mini and Apple TV 4K, both equipped with faster chips to handle advanced Siri AI capabilities.

Apple might also tease a brand new smart home hub featuring a 7-inch display resting on a base similar to half a HomePod Mini. According to reports, “it can determine your distance from the display and adjust the size of what’s displayed in response.” Additional devices like an OLED iPad Mini, or new AirPods Pro with visual sensors remain in development, though, those might arrive later in the fall or in subsequent years.

If historical timing holds, Apple should officially confirm the event date before the end of August, with the live stream broadcasted across YouTube, the Apple TV app, and official web channels.
